Han Solo's Ankle Feels Wrath of Faulty Door
The latest Star Wars film is off to a bit of a rough start. Harrison Ford was injured on the Star Wars set and although the story of his injury is dramatic, it sounds like he'll be just fine. Reportedly, Ford was on set at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England when a hydraulic door fell on him. (Sounds scary, right?) Ford was then taken by helicopter to John Radcliffe hospital in nearby Oxford. (Sounds intense, right?) According to the Mirror, the injury is suspected to be a fracture. (Sounds like he'll totally be okay.)
Disney released a statement regarding the accident which reads,
Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates.
The Mirror also reports that the Star Wars set is going to re-checked for safety following the accident. A spokesperson for the Thames Valley Police Department explained the situation further saying, "We were called to Pinewood studios at 5.05pm after reports of a 71-year-old man being injured by a garage door."
Well, here's hoping Ford gets well soon. You can't have Han Solo limping around. But then again, Han Solo isn't as young as he once was...
