Hollywood's sweetest couple award should definitely go to Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka. On Sunday during his acceptance speech at the Drama Desk Awards, NPH made his thank you more about his husband than his own achievement. Though he'd won Outstanding Actor in a Musical for Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Neil Patrick Harris' acceptance speech emphasized his gratefulness for the love of his life.
I'd like to thank David Burtka, my fiance. We've been together for over ten years and when we first met I was doing a show, Cabaret, and he was [the character] Tulsa in Gypsy. We were both doing shows at the same time and my path has led us mostly to Los Angeles and it has sort of uprooted him from what he had been doing. So, thank you so much for your love and for your patience and your sacrifice in all that you do. And I can't wait for the opportunity soon when these roles get to be reversed and I get to cheer you on up here doing what you do so well.
