Cindy McCain Has Some Words For Her
Oh, Gwynnie and all of her GOOPiness. She's a pretty easy target, yeah? Well, it's pretty easy to be a target when you liken reading Internet comments to surviving a bloody battlefield. So, Cindy McCain blasted Gwyneth Paltrow on Twitter for that comment. Now is reading that comment like being a war vet? Probably not, I would think.
This whole debacle over reading comments sparked when Paltrow spoke at a conference and said that bizarre, out of touch comment. To quote:
You come across [online comments] about yourself and about your friends, and it’s a very dehumanizing thing. It’s almost like how, in war, you go through this bloody, dehumanizing thing, and then something is defined out of it
She should talk to bloggers, who sometimes get E-hate on a daily basis.
Of course, this isn't the first out-of-touch comment Paltrow has made; it's kind of a point de facto of Paltrow to say things that are a little...removed from the average person. So that's why when Paltrow says something, you don't balk, you take it with a grain of organic salt. Or no salt at all because GOOP wouldn't approve of added salt. So you take it with a grain of...a grain of something natural?
Anyway, McCain didn't take it with a grain of insert-organic-item-of-choice-here because she simply couldn't. Paltrow hit a sensitive spot, since her two sons served in the military. With all that in mind (an obviously a distaste for Paltrow to boot), this is what she had to say:
And that was not all. McCain had a suggestion for Paltrow:
That's backlash for Paltrow, without a doubt. And rightfully so! You say something that's unwarranted, you will receive backlash.
But she'll probably just ignore McCain's comments, because, after all, it's hatred coming at her via the Internet, or as she would likely say, just another battle wound. Eye roll.
