7 Beauty Lessons Straight From 'Dawson's Creek'
As one of the first shows on the WB to soar into teen fandom, it's no surprise that Dawson's Creek set the tone for some pretty memorable moments. Perhaps that is why rumors of a reunion have been floating around the interweb quite frequently. Despite the fact that each episode was dripping in dramatics that even as a teenager seemed over the top, I still tuned in each week to find out whether or not Dawson was going to end up with Joey.
Dawson's Creek may not have been the first show I ever turned to for fashion advice, but that is not to say there was ever a shortage of beauty tips. It might seem a little farfetched, but recently re-watching the seasons again I noticed a surprising number of noteworthy hair and makeup moments.
Sometimes snarky, and majority of the time witty, Dawson's Creek played a heavy hand in bringing up teens with a sense of angst that felt deserved. Creator Kevin Williamson appeared to be pulling pages out of each script the legendary John Hughes ever wrote. From the utterly awkward, to the heavily romantic, here are some of the series best beauty takeaways.
1. WHEN THREATENED BY ANOTHER PERSONS BEAUTY, ALWAYS POINT OUT THE OBVIOUS
Joey Potter was never one to shy away from embarrassing Jen Lindley
2. EVERYTHING CAN CHANGE WITH WITH A LITTLE BIT OF MAKEUP
All it took for Dawson to finally notice Joey was a touch of mascara.
3. BEAUTY LESSONS CAN TURN ROMANTIC
Nothing like shaving your man's beard to make for a steamy date.
4. BEAUTY SLEEP IS Very IMPORTANT
Just be wary of swamp monsters.
5. YOUR BOY DRASTICALLY CHANGING HIS HAIR STYLE IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD
If Joey can accept Pacey's shaved head, so can we.
6. THEY WERE AHEAD OF THEIR TIME
Joey Potter: Rocking ombré before all of us.
7. Just face it: WE ALL LOOK UGLY WHEN WE CRY
Especially Dawson Leery.
