Dionne On FOX News? As If!
Could you imagine Cher asking Dionne her thoughts on economic policies in Clueless? Probably not, but regardless, Stacey Dash is in talks to become a contributor for Fox News. Don't say "as if!" to it — it's a pretty viable possibility right now, and Dash is actually pretty active in the Republican party.
The 47-year-old actress has been making a bunch of appearances on the network. She's been pretty public with her thoughts on news and politics, and endorsed former Presidential candidate Mitt Romney back in 2012. At the time, Twitter attacked her virulently — because, you know, Twitter is never a friendly animal if its collective audience doesn't like what you have to say — and after the incident, she said to Fox News just how virile the comments were:
I had death threats, people calling me Uncle Tom, telling me I didn’t like black people. Ridiculous things that I didn't really care to hear [...] It made me feel more confident in my belief. It made me feel that I needed to stand up more.
She has since emerged as an outspoken Republican in Hollywood.
Bu remember — these talks are just talks. No Fox News rep has commented, so we can't yet run around going, "OMG! From Clueless to... conservative commentary?" Still, it seems pretty likely. I'll leave my political persuasions out of the argument, but I will say this: Dash should be all right, provided she doesn't ever refer to Haitians as Cher did.
