'Pitch Perfect 2' Just Added This Awesome Lady

Well this is one sequel shaping up to have a pretty stellar cast: Katey Sagal's joined Pitch Perfect 2 , adding a little non-millennial energy to this group of young whippersnappers. Huzzah! The casting was announced Wednesday via a tweet by Elizabeth Banks. Sagal's been most well-known in recent years for her role in Sons Of Anarchy, though she's been a television staple for decades through 8 Simple Rules, Futurama, and Married With Children. She's also not lacking in the vocal department: She's released multiple albums and is currently on tour promoting her most recent one.

Sagal will be joining Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow, Adam DeVine, and the recently cast Hailee Steinfeld in the sequel, which has been written by Kay Canon and will is being directed by Banks.

Details are limited when it comes to who exactly Sagal will be playing — perhaps the elusive mother of Kendrick's character? — but we've got high hopes she won't disappoint. Sagal's certainly shown an affinity for the kind of wise-cracking that contributed to Pitch Perfect's popularity, so overall this seems like a damn solid casting decision — especially considering that Katey Sagal is a goddess who should be in more movies so that the public can admire her more often.
