Solange Has A New Shopping Buddy — And It's Jay Z
Sorry, America, but you might have to find a new celebrity scandal to obsess over. According to new reports, Solange Knowles and Jay Z may no longer be feuding. Though Solange was recently caught on tape hitting her brother-in-law Jay Z in the elevator at the Met Gala after party, the latest reports reveal that the two are currently spending time together. Solange and Jay Z were spotted jewelry shopping together, which might mean that these two are putting their differences aside... or, at least, want the world to think that they are. But there's something a little suspicious about their recent jewelry adventure, and it's making me question just what is going on with this family.
According to reports, Solange and Jay Z did some jewelry browsing at Mr. Flawless, a high-end jewelry store in New York City. According to the reports, Solange and Jay Z were shown a variety of pieces by owner Greg Yuna (a.k.a. "Mr. Flawless") but did not try on or purchase anything. The two allegedly browsed quietly, without saying much to the other during their time in the store.
Am I the only one who sees this situation as just a tad bit suspicious? For one thing, the video of Solange hitting Jay Z was released only days prior to their jewelry shopping trip, so it seems a little strange that the two would feel comfortable hanging out after such a major (and public) blowout. Then there's the fact that the two were reported to have barely talked in the store and didn't purchase a single piece — almost as if they wanted to be seen together, but, in actuality, didn't really want to be around one another for longer than they had to.
And speaking of being seen together, why wasn't there a single photographer documenting their shopping trip? After a scandal this big, I would assume that the paparazzi would be all over Solange and Jay Z... yet we have no photos of the alleged shopping trip. Did they even go shopping? Or did they just say they went shopping? Or did Mr. Flawless make this whole thing up for some (very successful) press?
It makes sense for Jay Z and Solange to want to put the incident behind them. It's obviously the mature thing to do, and even celebrities don't want rumors of familial conflict swirling about them. So even if this shopping trip was just a big PR stunt, hopefully it will help them heal for real in the future.
If, in fact, they went shopping at all.
