Never Forget To Invite Angelina Jolie To A Party

Seems like Angelina Jolie's Maleficent is trying her darndest to redefine awkwardness for a more medieval time. This is extremely evident in the first clip from Disney's Maleficent , which showcases what happens when you commit a party foul against a destined Disney villain. Hint: She ain't gonna like it.

"How quaint," Maleficent says to the party gathering in the clip, as if she'd just walked in on a family movie night and not, say, all of the region's royalty and a bunch of fairies. It's kind of a feat to be able to look the most royal in a room full of royals, but Jolie pulls it off. She also pulls off the best pout-to-evil-smile transformation I've seen in a long time.

Nowadays, a common reaction to an awkward party situation might consist of planting yourself on the couch and focusing intently on that oh-so-fascinating Twitter feed, or refreshing Instagram a billion times. But in Maleficent, you handle an awkward party by cursing a baby with a pet crow nearby.

You go, Maleficent. Four for you, Maleficent. Maybe just ... curse fewer babies at the next party you're (not) invited to.
