As if there weren’t enough awards shows packed into the first several months of the year, there’s yet another new event added into the mix this year: the iHeartRadio Music Awards, which were held for the first time ever on Thursday evening. Letting iHeartRadio fans choose their favorite artists to win various awards, the show was not only packed with big performances and a number of famous faces — including Selena Gomez, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, and more — but it was also a playground for some pretty impressive style stars. And though none of them pulled a Grammys and went into full-out high-fashion mode, the singers and stars did show off a string of black and white looks that ranged from chic-but-basic to straight up sexy. Leave it to Rihanna to make a sheer, lingerie-inspired Givenchy Couture look sexy, not sleezy, at the inaugural awards show. Pairing her ensemble with a twisted updo, leather jacket, major silver bling, and a shocking shade of emerald lipstick, the bad girl made sure all eyes were on her all night long.
Jennifer Lopez
The singer, actress, designer, and American Idol judge looked as sultry as ever in her little white Zuhair Murad dress. With its beaded and cutout detailing, high neckline, and sky-high hemline, the sleek ensemble was the perfect contrast to her long, glossy locks and dramatic eyes.
Shakira
The Latin singer and The Voice judge kept it short and simple in her two-piece Alaia ensemble that featured a contrasting, patterned crop top and flouncy-hem skirt.
