Someone Wants To Make It An Even 20
When 19 Kids and Counting premiered in 2008 it was called 17 Kids and Counting and while fans of the show have probably learned quite a lot about the Duggar family since the show began, those who aren't quite as in the know have wondered one thing and one thing only: Just how high is that number gonna get? And, unsurprisingly considering she already has 19 children, Michelle Duggar would have another baby if the opportunity presented itself. I realize "opportunity presented itself" is an odd way to describe having a child, but really, that's what she makes this sound like. Basically, if a fetus showed up in her womb and was like, "Yo, I'm living in here now," she'd be like, "Sweet, dude. I've made it to an even 20."
In a preview for the latest episode of 19 Kids and Counting which airs on Tuesday night, Duggar says, "I realize that I don’t have those little tiny babies in my home any more. We would welcome another baby if god offered to give us another one." For obvious reasons, this might prove difficult. Duggar is 47 years old and had her last child in 2009.
Still, it sounds like she's actively trying to have a child or at least that was the case when she gave an interview in fall 2013. She said at the time, "I would be so grateful if the Lord blessed us with another one."
Duggar sounds like she genuinely enjoys raising a ton of children — which is a good thing because she has a ton of children — but who knows if this is also an addiction of sorts or even a numbers game. Maybe she does want an even 20.
Obviously, Duggar has plenty on her hands at the moment. There are so many children in her life, not only her 19 but her three grandchildren, that multiple birthdays have to be celebrated at once. In the preview, Duggar explains at the end how she would like to have another child, but the rest of the clip is Duggar celebrating the birthdays of her two 4-year-old daughters (not twins) and her 4-year-old granddaughter. Duggar's two 4-year-olds have nearly a year difference in age, so they're both 4 years old together for a week. A clear sign that you have too many children in your life is that three birthdays need to be celebrated at once. Another clear sign, is that you just made some entertainment writer spend five minutes trying to figure out if the math made sense because how the heck could they be four at the same time?! (It makes sense, don't worry.)
If Michelle Duggar wants my advice — and she doesn't because my show would be called Zero Kids & Counting But Only To One Or Two At The Most Because Omg, Y'all, I Don't Even Like Kids That Much (And, Obvi, This Would Be Years From Now) — 19 sounds like plenty. Plenty.
