Need an excuse to watch more porn? How does saving the environment sound? Awesome? Good — because that’s exactly what online porn streaming site Pornhub is doing with their latest campaign, “Pornhub Gives America Wood.” Best campaign name ever? I think so.
This week — the week following Arbor Day, which was on April 25 — Pornhub is keeping track of all of the videos watched in the site’s “big dick” category. For every 100 videos viewed, they’ll plant a tree. Says the (SFW) page promoting the event, “While you’re watching some nice pieces of ash, you’ll also be helping to spruce America up! (Bushes are optional).” Gotta love a good porn pun, right?
The event page also shows the current tally for number of trees planted; as of this writing, the tally is at 12,383 trees. If I’ve done my math right (which I might not have, so fair warning), that means that roughly 1,238,300 “big dick” videos have been watched so far. And it’s only Tuesday! If that’s how much porn we watch — uh, how much we can accomplish — within the space of a few days, just imagine how much porn we’ll have watched — er, I mean, how many trees we’ll have ready to go in the ground — by the end of the week!

The Daily Dot points out that it’s unclear where exactly the trees will be planted or what environmental organization Pornhub is working with; however, the site’s PR director said that they’ve narrowed the list down to three organizations, so we can probably take it in good faith that they’ll follow through on their promise.
So go ahead. Do your part. Anything to save the environment, right?
