Does This Face Say "I Love The Ending?"
Still upset about that finale? Well, you have permission to continue griping because Neil Patrick Harris says he liked the How I Met Your Mother finale. The artist formerly known as Barney Stinson stopped by The Late Show after a performance of Hedwig and The Angry Inch on Broadway to chat with David Letterman about the beloved (and now reviled for its ill-fitting ending) sitcom, but, to be honest, he doesn't seem particularly happy as he talks about it with Letterman... so we're not entirely convinced he was a fan of how things wrapped up.
Here's a thought. What if the powers that be at CBS are just paying Harris to be pro-ending? Or what if being pro-ending is a part of his contract, and he really isn't a-okay with the ending? After all, it seems like any force involved with the show on a professional level has demonstrated admiration for the show's time-dashing arc, and everyone else has established a mild to severe hatred of the finale.
Notice a pattern?
Anyway, Harris supports the show's arc and he said that any character will grow and develop over a period of time (agreed), but at the end of the day, no matter how much a character like Barney does develop... Barney will still want to bang your mom. Well, that's true.
But seriously, does this face say "Yes! I loved the ending!" to you?
And forgive me if I'm looking too closely into this, but that looks like someone's lips are sealed.
And now, for a pensive moment of solemnity.
Aah, NPH, we'll always like you and Barney, but we just cannot get behind that ending. And from the looks of things, neither can you. Just admit you hated it! Please?
