7 Secret Celebrity Weddings

Over the weekend, Jodie Foster tied the knot (which, P.S., may not be an expression anyone uses outside celebrity news items) with girlfriend Alexandra Hedison, an actress and photographer who Foster has been dating since last summer. They kept the wedding- and even the engagement!- a total secret.

This is, of course, in total contrast to the impending Kimye wedding, about which we're learning every single last detail leading up to the big day. By the time Kim Kardashian walks up the aisle, we'll know what her dress looks like, what the guests will eat, how expensive each party favor is— the only surprise left will be whether or not Kanye accidentally coughs at the altar, and if he does, we'll know. We'll be watching it on live TV!

It's kind of refreshing, then, to hear about an A-lister with a little bit of discretion. We're left to imagine what kind of wedding they had, which is as it should be. After all, we weren't invited! Foster and her new wife are in good company— plenty of celebs decide to forego to spotlight and keep their special days private, small, and, well, special.
