All eyes continue to be glued to Kate Middleton as her three-week style tour comes to an end in Australia. And, as expected, she did not disappoint at one of her final events down under. Wednesday night, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a party at the Government House residence of the Australian head of state and Middleton wore an ensemble that touched on some of our favorite trends. Let's break it down, shall we?
The Little White Dress
Middleton stunned in a white cocktail dress from American designer Lela Rose, which seemed almost tailor-made to fit her body. But perhaps the best part about the unique LWD was its delicate cut-out sleeves and peplum detailing. In case you were wondering, the dress is currently sold out, but was once available at Nordstrom.
The Modern Lace Details
Just like florals, lace isn't exactly groundbreaking for spring. However, we like the modern twist that this dress has taken on the traditional lace trim. In place of delicate flowers are unique, circular cut-outs which adds a little bit of edge to Middleton's overall look.
The Black Pumps
Instead of going the easy route and pairing her white dress with nude heels, Middleton decided to mix things up and go with basic black pumps instead. Even though it's a small detail, it definitely transformed her outfit into a more sophisticated one. Another great touch: the matching black clutch. So on point, Middleton!
The Drop Diamond Earrings
Everyone knows by now that the Duchess is a huge fan of the drop diamond earring (she wore them on her wedding day!). Here's yet another example of why it works and why we should all incorporate the elegant jewelry into our spring outfits.
The Relaxed Chignon
When it comes to her hairstyles, Middleton isn't one to make things complicated. Even at the most formal events, she likes to keep things simple and sleek, so a relaxed chignon was the perfect choice. It's equal parts comfortable and stylish, not to mention flattering on the Duchess' stunning face!
