It's definitely not a coincidence that Kate Middleton left the hospital wearing polka dots ... Princess Diana also wore a polka dot dress when she left St. Mary's back in 1982, and the fact that they're almost twinsies is actually kind of cute. Not only because the little bundle of royal in Diana's arms is the very same man standing next to Kate and the new royal bundle, but also because it shows a sensitivity to honoring the past.
My issue has always been that Kate Middleton does not have a detectable personality and is also, too skinny. But she looked drop dead gorgeous in her light blue, polka-dotted Jenny Packham dress — her playful homage to her husband's mother is sweet and understated. It's exactly the sort of thing we'd want Kate to do, but is all the more adorable because no one expected it.
Who knows, maybe growing a little prince inside her uterus helped Kate grow a public persona, as well! Given this cute little meet 'n greet with baby royal, and her thoughtful outfit, there's reason to be hopeful.
