Katy Perry & Diplo Might Be a Perfect Match

It looks like pop star Katy Perry may have found herself a new man. Just weeks after reportedly going on a date with rapper Riff Raff, which was an interesting choice, to say the least, Perry was spotted with DJ and producer Diplo at Coachella last weekend. And rumor has it that the two got it on. Well, not exactly. According to Page Six, Perry and Diplo were seen boarding Perry’s bus together… so they could have gotten it on!

For those of you who don’t know, Diplo (real name: Thomas Wesley Pentz) is a 35-year-old Los Angeles-based music producer and DJ. You’ve heard his work: M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes,” Chris Brown’s “Look At Me Now,” Alex Clare’s “Too Close,” etc. Diplo actually dated rapper M.I.A. for five years, but he's back on the market now. He also happens to be ridiculously handsome. So, are Perry and Diplo a good match?

You’d be hard pressed to nail down Perry’s type, that’s for sure. Just take a look at some of her past loves: Travie McCoy, Russell Brand, John Mayer — what do these three men have in common? Not much. And Perry’s recent fling with Riff Raff (who is ironically signed to Diplo’s record label Mad Decent) just made things even more confusing. So while I actually have no idea what Perry’s looking for in a man, I’m kind of excited about this whole Diplo thing. I think the two musicians would make a cute couple! Here’s why:

They Make Sweet, Sweet Music Together

Perry has yet to release any Diplo-produced music herself, but the pair did work together on her last studio album, Prism. Though their collaboration, “Passenger,” didn’t make Prism’s final track list, it was passed on to Britney Spears who recorded the song for her last studio album, Britney Jean. “Passenger” is without a doubt the best song on Britney Jean — I’m kind of mad that Perry didn’t keep it for herself! Hopefully these two lovebirds will continue to make music together in the future.

They’re Both Ridiculously Good-Looking

Just look at these two beautiful bastards. People shouldn’t be allowed to be this good-looking — it’s not fair to the rest of us. Oh my gosh, what if they decide to have kids?? I realize I’m getting way ahead of myself here, but let me just say, the world is not ready.

Diplo Knows How to Treat His Partner

During a Valentine’s Day interview with Ask Men , Diplo was asked, “What do you think a girl really wants on Valentine’s Day?” His response was perfect:

Attention. That’s all girls want. The best gift you can give to a girl is your devotion, not some Louboutins.

Aw, how sweet.

Diplo Likes Dating Women With Crazy Hair Colors

Perry’s hair has been every color of the rainbow over the course of her career — sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. (She most recently dyed her ends a dingy shade of green…yeah, it’s not a good look.) Thankfully, Diplo's into that sort of thing! His ex-girlfriend M.I.A. has been through her fair share of fluorescent hair colors, as well. Perhaps Diplo has a fetish?

Neither of Them Has a Grammy Award...Yet

While both Perry and Diplo have been nominated for Grammy Awards in the past, neither of them has won. This is great! I mean, it’s not great, but at least they never have to be jealous of the other person’s career! ...Right?

To be honest, I don’t place a whole lot of stock in these Coachella rumors, but if Perry does actually turn out to be dating Diplo, I won’t be mad about it! Do you think I'll get invited to the wedding? I am one of Perry's biggest fans, after all. I'll cross my fingers.
