Is Gwen Stefani Releasing Another Solo Album?

People, it's happening: Gwen Stefani may finally be releasing another solo album. I haven't been this excited since someone told me that Katy Perry and Rihanna were releasing a song together. That, of course, turned out to be a cruel LIE, but this Stefani thing could absolutely turn out to be true. Maybe.

Okay, full disclosure: the only evidence we have so far of another Stefani solo album is this strange set of pictures she just posted to her official Facebook page on Thursday. In the photos, Stefani's wearing a bubblegum pink wig, hot pink lip gloss, and a pink zebra jacket. She is serving... vacant expression realness. I'm serious — I haven't seen a stare this empty since The Anna Nicole Smith Show.

But just what is this mystery photo shoot for, anyway? I kind of doubt it's for anything No Doubt-related since the band took, like, six years to release 2012's Push and Shove. I guess it could be for either of Stefani's clothing lines, L.A.M.B. and Harajuku Lovers, but are those still a thing even? Anyone? Mostly I'm just actively choosing to believe that these pictures are promotional shots for a new album because I miss solo Stefani so damn much.

Stefani's second solo album, The Sweet Escape, is pretty uneven in terms of quality, but her debut, Love. Angel. Music. Baby., is perfection. I'll admit, the first time I heard the album all the way through, I was like, "What the hell was that? No thanks, I'm way too busy listening to Evanescence!" But I gave it a second chance, and that second chance was all it took for me to fall in love. "What You Waiting For?" "Rich Girl"? "Hollaback Girl"? "Cool"?? All modern pop classics. In fact, a lot of the songs on Love. Angel. Music. Baby. still sound fresh today. Stefani was so ahead of her time! Could she possibly be gearing up to do it again? We can only hope.
