Dior is Following Alexander Wang to Brooklyn

by Sara Tan

When Alexander Wang announced that he would be taking his fashion show to Brooklyn last February, the fashion world grumbled a bit at the thought of having to traverse across the bridge during the already chaotic week. But it seems he has set off a trend because Dior has decided to take their pre-spring runway show to the Navy Yard this May.

Dior announced today that it plans to show its Cruise 2015 fashion show (aka Resort) at the same location as Wang did a few months ago. For those who plan on attending, but are worried about how to get there and back, fret not: to avoid the traffic issues that attendees faced during the Wang show, Dior will provide guests round-trip, door-to-door car and ferry service.

So, why Brooklyn? Dior believes it captures the true essence of the city. "We wanted the show to feel very New York, and the Navy Yard's view and space captures the city," a spokesperson told WWD .

The show will take place on May 7 at 6:30 p.m.
