Comic-Con is to movie and comic buffs what the Bible is to Christians. Which is to say it's damned important. However, superheroes and sci-fi have recently made the leap from subculture to cultural phenomenon, meaning the revelations from 2013's Comic-Con mean something to all of us. Especially after seeing news from our favorite shows and movies at the festival. Here are some of the most important things we learned from 2013's nerdfest: Brace yourself, because you might not be able to handle the truth.

Especially after seeing news from our favorite shows and movies at the festival. 'Avengers' Fans, Be Ready For Your Fave Villian, Ultron

WIth the release of the title of the second Avengers movie , The Avengers: Age of Ultron, avid fans and Wikipedia users were given a clue as to the direction of the Avengers franchise, and, if it includes Ultron, it's going to be dark. Ultron is a megavillain in the Marvel universe with daddy issues, appearing multiple times to destroy everything and be a generally be a crazy fucking robot. I'm sickeningly excited. Image: Marvel

Batman and Superman Will Be Sharing the Big Screen

Superman and Batman are going to be doing a movie together. Cue the homoerotic superhero dreams everyone. However, since Christian Bale won't be reprising his famous role, who will play our beloved Batman? Guess we'll just have to wait 'til next year's Comic-Con to find out? Image: Warner Bros.

Pint-size nerds can rejoice: We will soon be graced with a new animated Batman, one that is decidedly more PG than the Dark Knight. Beware the Batman isn't your old Saturday morning cartoon anymore, with cutting-edge CGI and general badassery already promised from the teaser released by DC Nation.

The X-Men Cast Looks Even Hotter When They're All Together

Does that even seem possible? Fans predictably lost their shit when the star-studded cast of 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past all crowded onto the stage, and who can blame them? With Sexy McFassbender, Hugh Jackman, Peter Dinklage, and countless others, this most glorious of action franchises was a feast for the eyes, and Bryan Singer's hints at further X-Movies were a feast for the soul.

The 'Breaking Bad' Cast Is So Cute, We Can't Let the Show End Ever

Also, throughout the final season of the anticipated series, apparently Bryan Cranston was in his underwear a lot. You can now put that in the mental list of things you never needed to know. However, the cast clearly gets along really well and loves the work they do, so we've officially decided to cancel the end of Breaking Bad permanently. Image: AMC
