Karen Gillan Gave 'Star Wars' A Rather Odd Gift
At this past year's Comic-Con, former Doctor Who star and current Occulus star Karen Gillan shocked fans by pulling her hair right off of her head and revealing that she'd shaved that head for her role as Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy. Now she's shocking fans with a story that is equal parts weird, creepy, and hilarious: Karen Gillan gave that hair to Star Wars .
No one knows much about the details of Star Wars Episode VII yet, but maybe they're in dire need to human ginger hair? If so I feel we should all be gravely worried. No matter what they were planning on doing with it, though, Gillan's hair is likely residing in some Disney vault somewhere, possibly next to and/or on Walt Disney's frozen head, waiting for a potential appearance in Star Wars.
Here's what she told Collider :
I was laughing hysterically [when I cut my hair]. It really hit me when I woke up the next morning. That's when I was like, "Oh, my god, where's my hair?!" But also, everyone kept me in good spirit. Everyone was laughing and telling jokes. Marvel are the best company to work for, they really are. They treat you really well. They made my hair into the most incredible well-made wig and they gave it to the Star Wars people. It's just so funny to think that my hair is made into a wig, next to all these Star Wars monster heads in a warehouse. I thought that was really funny.
OK then. The only thing keeping me from labeling this firmly in the "creepy and weird" column is that Karen Gillan's former hair was a masterpiece of human perfection, and if they wanna keep on immortalizing it onscreen, I'll only be slightly creeped out. Because, well:
