Here is some good news for this Olympic swimmer. Ryan Lochte and Kayla Rae Reid are expecting their first child, as the couple both announced on Instagram Wednesday. Of course, they couldn't help themselves and revealed the exciting news in the most appropriate way. As I'm sure you can imagine, their pregnancy announcement involves water. Shocking, right? Admit it: you'd probably be a little disappointed if a pool wasn't involved somehow. I know I certainly would have been disappointed.
Moving on. Lochte's Instagram shows him kissing his fiancée's baby bump underneath the water. It's super sweet. He captioned it, "My Christmas gift came early this year, can't wait for next year! Best news I've ever received #CLOUD9 #excited #family #love #2017." If you couldn't tell, he's beyond thrilled to become a dad. And he's right, knowing he will soon be a father is a pretty great Christmas present.
As for Reid, she shared a different image of the two underneath water, where Lochte is once again kissing her pregnant belly. "Just when you think you think you have it all figured out, life always surprises you with blessings when least expect it." She continued, "So excited to share this news with all of you."
In October, Lochte and Reid got engaged. Similar to their baby news, they also announced their engagement on Instagram. Based on the photos, the two seem super in love, so they will probably make great parents and love their kid just as much as they do one another.
Congrats to both Lochte and Reid on their impending addition. I already can't wait to find out what they're going to name the baby.
