Harry Potter super fans who just happen to also be beauty junkies are probably about to lose their minds. No, I don't think that's an over exaggeration because the swatches of the Harry Potter-inspired palette from Storybook Cosmetics are here and they are incredible. While the official Harry Potter name is no longer attached to the palette, it's none the less exciting that a shadow palette inspired by fans' favorite fictional realms is on the way.
A few months ago, rumors of a Harry Potter eyeshadow palette began to circulate around the same time the release of a brush collection began as well. Now, those who were stoked to see both appear are getting their first glimpse into the highly anticipated palette. While the brushes have been available for purchase already, the palette remained a bit of a mystery. In sketches posted to the brand's Instagram — that have now been taken down — fans were able to catch a glimpse of what looked to be Hogwarts House inspirations in the palette's shades, but the new palette shows a different direction.
On Wednesday, Storybook Cosmetics posted a gorgeous set of swatches that featured a huge range of shades. Each name is based on witchcraft or wizard stories fans will be familiar with — though none are incredibly specific. While names like Salem and Jinx are clever, the most exciting part of the post is the shades that are going to work on practically any skin tone. The names, do, however make sense thought since the official palette is called Wizardry and Witchcraft.
Look at those stunning hues. They're a perfect mix of mattes and shimmers.
The brand even swatched on different skin tones, and it looks bomb on both.
Plus, you can even see the shades in action. These navy and gold shades are definitely screaming Ravenclaw, right?
Everything about the packaging is also incredible.
While the Storybook Cosmetics Wizardry and Witchcraft Palette is only Harry Potter-inspired — and inspired by other fantastical stories as well — it's nonetheless exciting. All fandoms deserve representation, right? Well, the palette is definitely here to do that.
