Two Gotham stars have reportedly taken another big step. According to Us Weekly, Ben McKenzie and Morena Baccarin are engaged. A source told the outlet, "They are very happily engaged." A rep for Baccarin could not be reached for comment at the time of publication; McKenzie's rep has not yet responsed to Bustle's request for comment. Even though neither actor has officially commented themselves, Baccarin did show up to the 2016 Gotham Independent Film Awards in New York City Monday wearing what appears to be an engagement ring. It is quite the sparkly diamond, too.
Obviously, it could just be a random diamond Baccarin decided to wear as an accessory. However, the 37-year-old star is wearing it on her ring finger. Would she really be wearing a diamond on that finger unless she was engaged? It's doubtful, but if not, that's one gorgeous ring to just be wearing because it looks good with an outfit.
Seeing as the actors, who met on the set of FOX's Gotham, have been dating since September 2015 and welcomed their first child, a girl named Frances Laiz Setta Schenkkan (McKenzie's real last name is Schenkkan), in March, it seems like an engagement and then marriage are the logical next two steps.
Plus, in September 2015, TMZ reported that in documents they obtained in regards to her divorce from her first husband, Baccarin said she was planning to re-marry. "Today, I am in a new committed relationship," the court documents reportedly read. "I am planning to re-marry. Also, I am 3 1/2 months pregnant." To be clear, the former star of The O.C. was never mentioned by name, but TMZ reports that's who Baccarin was referring to.
Whatever the case, it sure seems like these two are very happy and can't wait to spend the rest of their lives together just like their Gotham characters, Jim and Leslie.
