9 Products That Promote Eyelash Growth

by Gina Jones 2

Long, fluttery lashes have never not been fashionable - falsies were all the rage in '50s Hollywood — but finding the time or even having the skill to apply a set of fake lashes each day just isn't possible for a lot of us. Finding products that promote eyelash growth is a healthier and more natural way to get your own lashes a little longer, without having to mess about with the stress of false lashes or eyelash extensions.

Without the help of a glam squad, it's impressive that anyone gets up that little bit earlier to apply a set of false lashes in the morning —let alone find the time in your super busy schedule to get a set of eyelash extensions fitted.

But adding one more product to your nightly beauty routine? Totally doable. It just helps to know which products work, so you're not wasting valuable moisturizing minutes on a serum that isn't going to do its job. Luckily, these products either have rave reviews or professional recommendations, to make them worth your while. Find out which brands have some amazing lash-boosting products below — and don't hesitate to cop the one that appeals to you the most.

1. Rodan + Fields Enhancements Lash Boost

Rodan + Fields Enhancements Lash Boost, $140, Amazon

"It's a nightly eyelash conditioning serum to enhance lashes with results by 4 weeks - lashes appear longer fuller and darker." Rodan + Fields consultant Tammy Mark tells Bustle, "With biotin and keratin to protect lashes and peptides to boost volume. No prescription needed."

And it's true — biotin and keratin are meant to promote lash growth. Plus who doesn't want to cop that amazing makeup bag?

2. Revitalash Advanced Eyelash Conditioner

Revitalash Advanced Eyelash Conditioner, $55, Nordstrom

As you can guess by the name, Revitalash is all about helping your lashes. This particular product has 30 five star reviews on Nordstrom and promises to "address the visual signs of eyelash aging and stress."

3. Latisse

Latisse 3ml Bulk Special, $297, Tell A Derm MD

First things first: Latisse needs to be applied by a professional. But given the rave reviews, it's worth the beautician's visit. Bustle spoke to celebrity dermatologist Dr Tabasum Mir, who has been featured on Bravo TV's The Singles Project and she would only recommend Latisse for eyelash growth.

"I can't really recommend anything other than Latisse," Mir writes in an email. "[It is the] only FDA approved [product] for longer and thicker lashes, and my 99 percent of my patients have seen amazing results. Latisse contains bimatoprost which is a prostaglandin analog and is the active ingredient [needed] to grow lashes."

4. Lush Ultrabland

Ultrabland Facial Cleanser, $19, Lush USA

Technically a facial cleanser, but xoVain writer Kate Foster discovered that Ultrabland makes your eyelashes grow too. Foster attributes this to the almond oil in the product, which has been used to encourage lash growth for years.

5. Elizabeth Arden Prevage Clinical Lash & Brow Enhancing Serum

Clinical Lash & Brow Enhancing Serum, $100, Amazon

The Telegraph tried and tested eyelash boosting serums this year, and this Elizabeth Arden ranked highly in beauty editor Sonia Haria's opinion, "This really is the gold standard of lash serums. Made with vitamins, botanicals and conditioners, this paraben-free formula dramatically improves the look of sparse lashes."

Bonus points: You can also use this serum to help grow any lacklustre eyebrow hairs too.

6. Chantecaille Faux Cils Mascara Longest Lash

Chantecaille Faux Cils Mascara Longest Lash, $80, Amazon

Another wonder product from The Telegraph's eyelash boosting experiment, this isn't just a serum for your eyelashes, but a mascara that promises exponential lash growth. This Chantecaille claims to stimulate lash growth by 25 percent and beauty editor Haria agrees. Kill two birds with one stone by growing your eyelashes simply by wearing mascara.

7. Diorshow Maximizer Volume Plumping Primer

Maximizer Volume Plumping Primer, $30, Sephora

One of the cheaper products on this list, but recommended highly by InStyle as well as over 150 five star reviews on Sephora. For use as a primer under your mascara, but you can also use this product as a serum overnight to promote lash growth.

8. LashFood Original Natural Eyelash Conditioner

Natural Eyelash Conditioner, $120, Lash Food

Experts in their field, mother and daughter pair Jane Kim and Faith Kim wanted to develop a lash lengthening product made entirely from natural sources — and thus LashFood was born.

9. Rimmel Lash Accelerator Serum

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Serum Clear, $8, Amazon

Another InStyle recommendation that's cheaper than the rest by a long way. InStyle promises this is the best lash booster you can buy for under $10.

Hopefully one of these lash products appeals to you and your face, because they promise to get the job done no matter what.
