Anna Chlumsky is Having the Best Week Ever

Out of every person who was nominated for an Emmy this morning, it's safe to say that Anna Chlumsky is having a better day than all of them. The Veep actress just revealed to People that she and husband Shaun So welcomed their first child, daughter Penelope Joan So last Thursday, July 11. This announcement comes the same day as Chlumsky's first ever Emmy nomination, for her supporting role in HBO's Veep.

Said the actress of her double dose of great news: “I’m still in shock. When I got the call I wasn’t sleeping because I was breastfeeding my daughter. It was neat because it was me and my husband and my daughter all in the room getting the news at the same time. When [my manager] told me, it was that nervous, happy, appreciative laughter. I just laughed a lot! It feels really great to have your work noticed."

It's strange to think of the My Girl actress being old enough to become a mother; but alas, it's been a startling 22 years (!) since the tearjerker was released. Chlumsky may have moved on, but we still haven't.
