Who doesn't wish they had someone in their life like Lorelai Gilmore or Luke Danes? They are one of the best TV relationships to have ever happened, so fans of both the beloved couple and forever cherished series will be ecstatic to hear that Lauren Graham and Peter Krause are just like Lorelai and Luke. Their relationship emulates the Gilmore Girls duo, which means Graham and Krause are basically a real-life Luke and Lorelai.
In Graham's new book (via People), Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls (and Everything in Between), she writes about falling for Krause on the set of Parenthood, where they played brother and sister. "At our age we’d probably both been through 'showmances' that went south and made work an uncomfortable place to be. But ultimately, our mutual wariness gave way — it just sort of happened."
They now live together in Los Angeles and they appear to be as happy as when they first started dating. She opened up to People, "I mean, he’s really my favorite person to talk to. And he always makes me laugh. He’s really, really funny." What makes them work so well as a couple is they get each other's lifestyles and work. "It’s hard to explain to people when you have a fancy job like being an actor what is challenging about it. So we just kind of have that shorthand, a shared language, which is helpful."
Doesn't that just make you feel warm and fuzzy all over? It's wonderful to know that Graham has found an amazing partner like her character, Lorelai, did in Luke. Really, their relationship sounds awfully similar to Luke and Lorelai's. Should we compare them? Yeah, we absolutely should.
They've Had Bad Relationships
Like Graham and Krause, who apparently have had some bad "showmances," both Luke and Lorelai have had bad experiences with their partners. From Nicole to Christopher to Rachel to Max to Jason, romance was never easy for these two.
They've Known Each Other Forever

They may not be actors like Graham and Krause, but Luke and Lorelai both run their own businesses, so they understand that it takes time and a lot of hard work. It's another thing they have in common.
They Make Each Other Laugh
Between Luke and Lorelai's wit and sarcasm, they couldn't help but make each other smile. I can only hope that is how Graham and Krause are too, because apparently, he is "really, really funny."
They Have Their Own Language
It's kind of crazy that like Graham and Krause's shared, shorthand language, Luke and Lorelai have the same thing. They always pretty much knew what the other person was thinking or feeling. Sometimes they didn't even need to finish a sentence for the other one to know where it was going. I mean, how often did Luke know Lorelai was in need of coffee?
