It's been just a few weeks since the Mannequin Challenge broke the internet, and the viral trend is still making waves, with creative new entries arriving every day. The challenge had deceptively humble beginnings: The initial video posted by Twitter user @pvrity___ in mid-October simply featured a group of Florida teens holding an impressively still tableau in a classroom. The short clip began to trend on social media, picking up thousands of likes and retweets the weekend before the election; then, high school and college students across the country began jumping in to add their own variation, each one more complex than the last. The rap duo Rae Sremmurd's song "Black Beatles" has become the challenge's anthem, underscoring many an attempt. With the help of the trend, the track quickly gained popularity, and has since risen to the top of the Billboard singles chart.

Now it seems everyone is getting in on the fun. Celebrities, sports teams, politicians, and even well-trained pets have since put their own unique spins on the phenomenon.
