The 'Fantastic Beasts' Mobile Game Sounds Amazing

by K.W. Colyard

When you queue for popcorn and drinks at your local movie theater on Thursday, you can play the Fantastic Beasts mobile game on your iOS or Android device while you wait to see Eddie Redmayne charm his way into early-20th century American hearts. Fantastic Beasts: Cases from the Wizarding World casts you as an agent in the Ministry of Magic's Department of the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, and asks you to solve mysteries related to the, you guessed it, fantastic beasts.

If you've played a mobile or PC title in the last five years, you'll be familiar with the format of the Fantastic Beasts mobile game. It's a detective-themed hidden-object game, in the same vein as Criminal Case and the Mystery Case Files series.

Fantastic Beasts: Cases from the Wizarding World players are presented with a picture of a seemingly normal room, in which lurks a magical creature, from either the upcoming film or the Harry Potter tie-in book. Find the little beastie, and you get to move deeper into the mystery.

The Fantastic Beasts mobile game will be available for download to your iOS and Android device on Nov. 17, to coincide with the theatrical release of the new Harry Potter spin-off movie.
