These New Year's Eve Dresses Are Perfect For 2017

New Year's Eve is a great holiday. Unlike most other holidays, where yoga pants are the norm, New Year's Eve gives you an excuse to get dressed up in fancy, sparkly dresses. New Year's Eve dresses are basically the closest any of us will get to feeling like a character in the Great Gatsby.

One of the greatest challenges in finding the perfect New Year's Eve dress is finding one that is not only cute and festive, but will also pair well with closed toed shoes and a jacket — because January is not the time to wear strappy sandals outdoors. I know this from experience.

You can have fun with your New Year's Eve look, maybe taking a cue from Kendall Jenner's slinky Paris Hilton-inspired birthday look or you can find a pretty dress that you'll be able to repurpose all year round. The opportunities are endless.

Generally speaking, I like to go a little out of the box with my New Year's Eve dresses, because there's really no reason not to. Last year I wore a floor length silver sparkly wrap dress and it was great, even though I'll never have another opportunity to wear such an ornate piece of clothing (instead i have it hanging on the outside of closet door and I tell people it is art, because it basically is).
