Last week, trendy and beloved online retailer Nasty Gal, which is part of #GirlBoss Sophia Amoruso's empire, quietly filed for bankruptcy. The future of Nasty Gal is certainly up in the air as the brand navigates a financial restructuring. That's likely why the encore of the Nasty Gal x Courtney Love capsule collection flew a bit under the radar upon launch. Can you still buy the new Nasty Gal x Courtney Love collection, even though the brand is in bankruptcy?
Good news, Nasty Gals and brand loyalists. You can still purchase items from the second Nasty Gal x Courtney Love range, dubbed "Love, Courtney by Nasty Gal." There is plenty of inventory in a variety of sizes as of press time.
I discovered the highly covetable and super wearable pieces this weekend while browsing the Nasty Gal site looking for sales and things I wanted to scoop up while I still could after learning of the bankruptcy filing. I was surprised when I stumbled on Part 2 of the Courtney Love collab and am glad that I did.
The first collection, full of items that embodied Love's '90s-era, tattered and torn babydoll x grunge queen aesthetic, landed in Winter 2016. It was fun and certainly a reminder of some of the most iconic looks of the still-resurgent '90s. The second Nasty Gal x Courtney Love collection offers much of the same — think babydoll dresses, slip dresses, and bodysuits.
Love, Courtney by Nasty Gal Night Moves Slip Dress, $88, NastyGal
This slinky dress has a built-in choker, making it so, so '90s.
Love, Courtney by Nasty Gal Canyon Club Dress, $118, NastyGal
You will be the girl with the most cake in this blush-hued and feminine babydoll frock.
Love, Courtney by Nasty Gal Bowery Dress, $78, NastyGal
This babydoll is my fave piece of the entire collection, which is actually pretty extensive. It's still available in most sizes, too. Most of the pieces take their names from rock 'n' roll venues, which I lurve. I am about to grab this baby(doll) ASAP.
Love, Courtney by Nasty Gal Whisky A Go Go Heel, $98, NastyGal
How can you not love these super strappy, Victorian-inspo heels? I plan to scoop these up, too.
Love, Courtney by Nasty Gal Palladium Blouse, $128, NastyGal
But this new collection also shows off some of Love's post-grunge style, including flowing tops, gloves, jackets, and more. I liken it to her more ladylike and '70s-inspo phase of the late '90s, when she was starring in The People vs. Larry Flynt. This top has serious, Stevie Nicks-like flow.
Love, Courtney by Nasty Gal Rock City Pants, $398, NastyGal
These leather pants totally look like a late-'90s era Love look. Leather pants are totally rock 'n' roll. Every rock chick's closet needs a pair or five. I personally favor leather leggings, but these babies smolder.
As you can see, Courtney Love x Nasty Gal Part 2 is an evolution and builds on their first collection. Grab what you can, while you can, since Nasty Gal's future maybe wind up uncertain due to its current financial woes. That said, the current situation may never end up trickling down or directly effecting customers.
Only a few pieces are sold out. Don't delay if any of the pieces jump out at you.
