There Is So Much Slime In The 'Double Dare' Promo

by Sabienna Bowman

Prepare to have your lifelong dream of getting slimed on Nickelodeon revived, because the Double Dare Reunion Special trailer is here and it is glorious. Everything you loved about Double Dare when you were a kid is back — Marc Summers, the goopy nose, and, of course, buckets and buckets full of green slime. The 30-year anniversary special is set to air on Wednesday, Nov. 23 on The Splat and Nick at Nite. In other words, if you are going to be hanging with family or friends the day before Thanksgiving, go ahead and reserve the TV now.

If you grew up in the late '80s/early '90s and watched Nickelodeon, then being on Double Dare is no doubt a lifelong dream. Watching the reunion special is the next best thing to actually having the opportunity to answer trivia questions and throw sponges at your little sister's head. The promo is sure to give you all the nostalgia as Summers preps for the big night. At one point Summers even runs into the show's legendary announcer Harvey using an old-school cell phone.

Trust me, this promo is going to make you forget all your worries and transport you back to 1993. Just sit back and soak in all the wacky goodness of seeing Summers on the Double Dare stage again. You deserve a little Double Dare fun in your life right now.

If you need even more motivation to watch the special, it is also going to act as a mini-All That reunion. Several All That cast members will help make up the two teams as they go head to head in physical challenges and dares. For one night, you are going to feel like a kid again as two of your favorite classic Nick shows collide to produce one, slime-filled ode to everything that was great about growing up in that time period.

"Double Dare was the show for a particular generation," Summers told E! Online. "For the kids of the '80s and '90s, they laughed and learned, and got messy in the process. Thirty years later, I believe it's still the gold standard." Don't worry, my heart just got all warm and fuzzy too.

In addition to bringing Double Dare back for one night of crazy fun, Thanksgiving weekend will also bring the premiere of The Legends of the Hidden Temple TV movie. This Thanksgiving is going to be all about the throwbacks, and you have Nickelodeon to thank for the cornucopia of '90s game-show goodness.

With Summers and Kirk Frogg back on your TV this year, it is safe to say you will have plenty to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
