Kris Jenner's B-day Dinner Is Missing Some VIPs

by Amy Roberts

You know what they say, there ain't no party like a Kardashian-Jenner's party, and in keeping with that tradition, Kris Jenner's 61st birthday party on Friday looked predictably off the hook. Featuring a distinctly celeb-filled guest list — which included Chrissy Teigen, John Legend, Chris Brown, Scott Disick, and Jenner's boyfriend Corey Gamble — the party looked every bit as glamorous as you might hope. It was a joint b-day bash with Jenner's PR pal Simon Huck. However, some famous faces were noticeably absent. Why was Kourtney Kardashian the only kid present at Jenner's party? Or at least based on the photos that surfaced and a report from Us Weekly, none of Jenner's other five children attended.

As several Snapchat accounts documented (including that of food connoisseur, Teigen), the party even served up a s'mores pizza as the birthday dessert of choice. A s'mores pizza, you guys — I'm not sure I completely understand what it is, but I do know that I want to experience such deliciousness, like now. All mysterious food choices aside, the absence of her offspring is the most puzzling.

So, let's investigate. First, it's worth noting that it was Kendall Jenner's big 21st birthday party just two days prior to the momager's 61st. As you might expect, her second youngest daughter enjoyed quite the celebration, including dinner with close family and friends at Catch L.A. Restaurant, before enjoying a bigger bash at new Los Angeles 1920’s retro-themed restaurant. And let's face it, there's a good chance that Kendall may well be either still celebrating her special birthday or recovering from the celebrations. Either way, her absence is completely understandable.

With Kendall enjoying a free pass due to her own festivities, it's worth asking where youngest daughter Kylie Jenner was. Well, judging from posts made to her Instagram on Friday, Kylie appeared to be hard at work in the lead-up to the launch of her and Khloé Kardashian's cosmetics collaboration, the Koko Kollection, which is due for release on Nov. 9.

Which could also go some way in explaining Khloé's absence from Jenner's party, too. Khloé happened to share some Snapchats the same evening with Kourtney and Scott's children, Mason and Penelope. It would make sense that Khloé may have been just kicking back and finalizing some business details, while also helping to babysit her niece and nephews as her sister partied it up.

Last but not least, this leaves Rob and Kim Kardashian. As an adorable Instagram post proved, Jenner's son had some pretty impressive balloons delivered to his mom, courtesy of himself and pregnant fiancée Blac Chyna (whom Jenner called "Angela," which is beyond cute). And seriously — considering that Rob and Chyna's baby's due date is around Nov. 10, can you really blame the two of them for wanting to stay home and chill out? I just hope that someone had the good sense to send some s'mores pizza over to their home afterward. Because that sounds like an essential pregnancy meal right there.

And then, there's simply the matter of Kim. If, as reported by People Magazine in their coverage of Kendall's 21st birthday, Kim "was in good spirits" at the party nearly a month after her terrifying robbery ordeal in Paris, then it might be easy to assume that she'd also be in good enough spirits to attend her mom's birthday too. Except that it's incredible noticeable in the coverage of Kendall's birthday party that Kim isn't exactly welcoming a return to the limelight. As reported by TMZ, Kim allegedly entered the party venue through a private entrance, so as not to be seen be paparazzi.

This is completely understandable. It's also easy to imagine Kim desperately wanting to help celebrate Kendall's special birthday no matter what it took, but for Kris to encourage her daughter to continue her post-robbery recovery away from the public eye, even if that meant missing out on her bash.

In fact, it's easy to imagine Kris taking this attitude toward all of her children who couldn't be in attendance, and it's a completely adorable mom attitude to take. Like any other mother, I'm sure she'd much rather her kids celebrate their own successes, work on their careers, and take care of themselves (and their loved ones), rather than ditch all of these important things just so they could celebrate another birthday.

It's also worth noting that Kylie, Kendall, Khloé, and Kim all left loving birthday tributes for their mom on their respective websites. Kylie wrote, "I can only hope to be half the businesswoman you are," while Kendall described Kris as "the most amazing mom a girl could ever ask for." Meanwhile, Khloé hailed Kris as being "the HBIC (Head B*tch In Command)" and "the ultimate momager," while Kim's website read, "Happy birthday to the Queen of F*cking Everything." So clearly, there's no shortage of love there.

Suffice to say, there's clearly nothing malicious or worrisome about the absence of most of Kris' children from her 61st birthday. It just looks like one of those things that all families can relate to — sometimes schedules, life events, or personal setbacks can get in the way of a complete celebration. But that doesn't mean those family members are lacking in any sort of love.

But most importantly, whether they were in attendance at Kris' party or not, there's only one thing I hope for all of them — that at some point afterward, they got to enjoy the s'mores pizza experience. Because sweet mercy, folks — who could possibly want to miss out on a dessert like that? Those Kar-Jenner's know how to live.
