Right as Halloween wraps up, we're going full steam ahead for the winter holiday celebrations — which means that thankfully, the latest holiday drinks are here to reflect our surge into the chilly weather. Starting today, Nov. 2, McDonald's McCafe has officially brought back their Peppermint Mocha. You might be wondering: How much does the McCafe Peppermint Mocha cost? While prices vary depending on your specific order and your location, the average price for a medium McCafe Peppermint Mocha is a nice $2.99, making it an affordable sweet treat to start your morning.
While many of us are unabashedly loyal to the Pumpkin Spice Latte, pumpkin can only bring us so far into winter before we begin to crave something a little different. A little something like... Peppermint? Chocolate? And therein lies the glorious winter drink we know and love: The Peppermint Mocha. What's more, you can also get McDonald's version in the form of a hot chocolate if you're trying to lower your caffeine dosage. Heck, you can even order it as an iced drink if you like to live on the edge (or simply live in an area with warm winters).
For those curious, the McCafe Peppermint Mocha is made with 100 percent Arabica bean espresso, dark chocolate syrup, peppermint, steamed milk, whipped cream, and a chocolate drizzle. Mmm, peppermint.
According to McDonald's, the McCafe Peppermint Mocha will be available through approximately mid-January (the exact end dates will vary by location), so you can comfortably expect to celebrate your winter holidays with one in hand. Whether or not you're a regular coffee drinker, it can be super nice to have some affordable ways to treat yourself, especially during the holidays when the focus tends to be on other people. Having good forms of self-care that are easy to do and affordable can make a world of difference when you're trying to find a way to brighten up your day, but are short on time or on a budget. Luckily, at only around $3, the McCafe Peppermint Mocha is a pretty quick and affordable treat.
While McDonald's most famous holiday drink is pretty much known to be the Shamrock Shake — it is green, after all — I have no doubt that the glory of the Peppermint Mocha will reign over most of our winters. What better way to beat the blues than peppermint and chocolate?
