Beyoncé & Jay Z Had The Perfect Halloween Costumes

When October rolls around every year, I always look forward to seeing what costumes my favorite celebs have chosen, especially when it comes to Beyoncé, Jay Z, and Blue Ivy. Year after year, they've killed it in their coordinating family costumes, and in 2016, they definitely didn't disappoint, especially since they chose to go with a couple who is just as iconic as they are. Beyoncé and Jay Z dressed as Barbie and Ken for Halloween — with Blue Ivy in a matching jacket — and it's hard to think of another costume that would have represented them better.

And obviously, the photos Bey has shared on Instagram prove that nobody could have pulled it off better. It's not like they put on a suit and a hot pink dress and called it a day. Nope, their costumes were way more legit than that, because both of the "Drunk In Love" performers are dolls in their boxes, doing the exact poses the real Barbie and Ken are doing when they're perched on store shelves. Of course, they dressed in the exact same outfits that the classic version of both dolls wore, because why do anything halfway? And it probably goes without saying, but Blue looked absolutely adorable in her jacket and skirt.

Later, they also took photos outside of their boxes, which are just as cute. And all of that attitude from Blue! Can I please join this family?

And if you think about it, there are few better ways to describe Beyoncé and Jay Z than as the Barbie and Ken of the real world... or at least Hollywood. They're both iconic in their own way, and serve as role models to millions of people. Plus, Barbie and Beyoncé are both insanely successful career women. Barbie has done basically every job in existence, while Beyoncé is Beyoncé. And both couples have had their struggles — remember the time Barbie and Ken temporarily broke up? — but they always find their way back to each other. Barbie may never have recorded an album like Lemonade, airing what may or may not have happened between her and Ken, but I'm pretty sure if her lips weren't made of plastic she would have done it.

I'm bummed we have to wait another year to find out what they'll come up with next, but 'til then, this will definitely hold me over. If Beyoncé and Jay Z ever want to adopt an adult child, they know where to find me! I'll bring my own Barbie jacket.
