Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell may be the Bachelor Nation couple du jour since they now have their own spinoff show, but I’m not going to forget about those who have gone before (well, really, after Ben) on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette — do Jordan Rodgers and JoJo Fletcher have a wedding date yet? Fans saw them get engaged in the summer of 2016, but really, they’ve been engaged for a lot longer than that. What are the wedding plans? Will I be able to see them on television? Can Jackson, their dog, be the ring bearer (please say yes)?
JoJo and Jordan told Chris Harrison on After The Final Rose that they were just looking forward to moving in together — Jordan packed his bags and relocated to Texas to be with JoJo soon after that filming wrapped. The two of them Snapchat and Instagram all the livelong day with their dog and whatever product they’re repping these days (get that money, right?), but I want wedding details! I want flowers and a white dress and two glistening tears on Chris Harrison’s cheeks, OK? Luckily, JoJo and Jordan have shed a little more light on their wedding situation and any upcoming plans.
At a Reality Check Q&A to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Mohegan Sun, JoJo said, “We talk about [a wedding] all the time. We know the type of wedding that we want, but we haven't set a date. We're still trying to figure out where we're gonna do it." Later, JoJo added, “There's no official date. Maybe sometime next year though!" Location is really the first step in all of this — JoJo grew up in Texas, whereas Jordan was raised in California. How do you even choose where to get married, knowing that half of your guests will have to travel anyway? I would split the difference and get married in a destination wedding — then everyone will have to travel, but we can all have a vacation together.
Togetherness seems to be Jordan and JoJo’s M.O. Jordan joked at Mohegan Sun that they should have gone to the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas to get hitched, but quickly changed his tune, saying, “We're going to plan a real [wedding], family, all that good stuff," Jordan said. "We don't want to leave them out."
Well, Jordan and JoJo, how about not leaving anyone out of your celebrations and doing it on television? Wouldn’t that be fun? JoJo, fortunately, is open to my very great suggestion. "We're not closed off to the idea," she said. "It's something to think about." I love a big Bachelor Nation wedding that I can cry tears of joy to — I think I watched Jade and Tanner’s wedding three times because they were so cute together. And no, I’m not ashamed.
I can’t fault Jordan and JoJo for wanting to take their time in planning a wedding. They fell in love over the course of what? Eight weeks? Considering these two have only known each other for about a year, I’d take a slow, easy, ride to the altar, too. What’s the rush when you have forever to be together? JoJo and Jordan will get married for sure, but I think we have a little bit of time to wait.
