Here Are All Of The Glossier Generation G Colors

by Zoe Weiner

The gang over at Glossier has always had a knack for knowing what our makeup bags need before we even know them ourselves (see: Halocscope and Balm Dotcom for proof) and they've officially done it again with their latest launch. On Monday, Glossier released two new shades of their Generation G Lip Mattes, just in time to update our fall beauty looks.

Haloscope, $22, Glossier; Balm Dotcom, $12, Glossier

The latest colors, "Zip" and "Leo," are bold, harvest-season-inspired shades that will go flawlessly with a new fall haircut and cozy cashmere sweater. They also won't smudge all over the lid of your Starbucks PSL cup, which is a crucially important added bonus. Zip is a poppy red that goes on sheer and can be layered for a fuller color, while "Leo" is a warm, rich cocoa shade that provides a light sheen to any lip tone. The two new colors join a range of four pink shades — "Like," "Crush," "Cake" and "Jam" — which means you now have six different ways to work Generation G into your daily routine.

The Generation G lip colors are unique in that the give the look and finish of a lip stain, but go on as easily as a balm or gloss. According to Glossier, they're meant to give you a "diffused, sheer matte goodness," without the help of lip liner or blotting papers. All you need to do is apply the stick to naked lips, and you'll be good to go.

Considering the Generation G shades are pretty much the only lip products you’re ever going to need in your life from here on out, here are all six options for you to choose from. If history repeats itself (which it often does), I would recommend making a decision fast so you won’t get stuck waiting for the next restock — Glossier’s products tend to sell out quick.

All of the mattes retail for $18, and are available exclusively at Glossier

1. Leo

Generation G, $18, Glossier

Leo's brownish tint will go perfectly with the pumpkin spice highlighter you're dying to try.

2. Zip

Zip's red can be as bright as you want it to be — use one or two swipes for a sheer, subtle shade; add three or four to give yourself a more intense pop of color.

3. Cake

Cake is the sheerest and lightest of the Generation G shades, and is meant to enhance your natural lip color with a subtle shine.

4. Jam

Jam is a rich berry shade that will add a little va-va-voom to your every day look.

5. Like

Like is the perfect shade for those of us who love all things millennial (aka Glossier) pink, including our lipstick.

6. Crush

Crush may look like a bright, electric pink (and it can be, if you layer it onto your lips heavily enough) but using only a swipe or two will give you a sheer tint of subtle fuchsia.

You didn't know you needed all of these until today, did you? Your lips can thank me later.
