I'm not crying, you're crying: The sixth and final season of Teen Wolf is quickly approaching its premiere date, and many fans are hoping the final season will lead to resolution for many of the series' long-standing storylines. Put more simply, many fans have one major question: Will Stiles and Lydia get together now that the show is ending? We don't have a "yes" or "no" answer, but according to these Teen Wolf Season 6 hints from the cast panel at New York Comic-Con, the will-they-won't-they couple will definitely have some drama.
Fans long speculated that Dylan O'Brien, who plays Stiles, would not even return for the final season after he sustained a serious injury on the set of the final The Maze Runner film. However, show runners confirmed Stiles would play a major role in the forthcoming season, and the trailers seem to indicate that Stiles Stilinski is back in action. In the final trailer — which was just released earlier this week — we get a closer look at what Stiles is up against this season. Plus, it appears that his relationship with Lydia, played by Holland Roden, is hurtling towards a dramatic conclusion. Watch below:
OK, so now that you've watched the trailer, you know that Stiles says "I love you" to Lydia. Or does he?
"You don't know who he's talking to necessarily," Holland Roden said at NYCC when asked about that dramatic trailer moment.
Creator Jeff Davis wouldn't confirm or deny a Stydia relationship, but he definitely seemed to suggest a happy ending for the two friends. "This is our last season — our last 20 episodes — so we want to bring the relationships full circle," he said. "We want to give the audience at least a few things they want."
Holland Roden may have played coy with her response, but Shelley Hennig, who plays Malia, threw her full support behind Stydia, despite the fact that her character has also had an on-again, off-again relationship with Stiles.
"I think it would be a really special moment," Hennig said. "[Stiles and Lydia] started together, and I'm a hopeless romantic, so I think it's a beautiful thing. Malia will be alright if that happens. She's got options."
You'll just have to watch to find out! The final season of Teen Wolf premieres on Nov. 15 on MTV at 9 p.m. ET.
