Urban Decay's Beauty Junkies Program Is Legit

by Amy Sciarretto

It pays — literally— to be a Beauty Junkie. No, not a lowercase "beauty junkie" who loves products, products, products, with an addiction to new shades, formulas, and brands. A "Beauty Junkie" is an Urban Decay fanatic. Beauty Junkies is also Urban Decay's rewards program and it's a pretty sweet club to belong to. How does Urban Decay’s Beauty Junkies program work?

It's pretty simple. The more intense your beauty addiction, the better your rewards. You can only enjoy the program's perks if you sign up for UD Beauty Junkies via the Urban Decay site. UD Beauty Junkies works like most customer loyalty programs. You create an account and accrue points whenever you make a purchase. You eventually redeem those points for rewards.

By signing up, which is free, you also gain access to level-based perks, such as free shipping with no minimum purchase and early access to new products. You also get special promotions, surprises, gifts, and double points days. Are you having trouble breathing right now due to all of that awesome?

As you rack up point after point, UD Kickbacks are added to your account automatically. The Kickbacks come in $10 and $20 denominations, based on points earned, and can be applied to future Urban Decay purchases.

But wait… it gets even better. You are further rewarded for your Junkie-ness. You can graduate to higher ranking status in the program, depending on how much you shell out. It's easy to spend money on Urban Decay products, since the brand dominates the palette space, consistently launches new items, and its quality is unmatched.

Each Beauty Junkies level has increased perks. The higher your level, the better your perks. It’s the same principle as you have to spend money to make money. The more you spend, the better your level and rewards.

The Obsessed level is the "starting point." You get free shipping, a birthday gift, extended returns, and more.

The next level up is Freaks, which is all of Obsessed's benefits, +access to new products and last call for products about to sell out.

North of that is Rockstar, which is all of Freaks' benefits, +free expedited shipping, access to private sales and events, and more.

Those are the basics. There is further fine print and an FAQ to answer any other questions you may have. Are you an official, card-carrying Beauty Junkie yet? I just signed up and was gifted with 20 points for doing so. I can see getting my Freak on pretty quickly.
