Kim K., PhD? 'Vogue' Cover Is Just the Beginning
For those of you who have been living under a rock, it finally happened. That's right — Kim Kardashian nabbed the cover of Vogue . Nothing bigger has ever happened for Kardashian, and that includes the reality show that launched her career and the birth of her daughter. She's not just a celebrity anymore, she's a Vogue cover girl. Yeah, so Kanye West may be on the cover, too, but let's be real: this is Kim's world and we are all just living in it. Just look at her smile! That's the smile of someone who knows that she's achieved the impossible. Girl, I never thought it would happen, either.
Now that Kim has the cover of THE fashion magazine, she's no longer just some silly little reality star with her own nail polish line. No, she's a highbrow icon. Or at least, she can be, if she keeps it up. It isn't easy to go from reality star to full-fledged icon. We're not saying that the path from ugly crying to poise and class is an easy one, but hey, the woman is well on her way.
Here are the five things that Kim should do in order to rise above her lowbrow beginnings.
Get an Ivy League degree.
Natalie Portman went to Harvard, Emma Watson went to Brown, and even Tyra Banks logged on to a website and received an Ivy League degree... well, kind of. And why stop at a fancy undergraduate degree? It's time that Kim gets a cute PhD next to her name, don't you think?
Delete her Instagram.
We know that Kim's 13 million followers might be a tad disappointed, but selfies are SO not highbrow. Has Anna Wintour ever taken a duck face selfie? Use that as your bar, Kim.
Snag an Oscar nomination — or better yet, an Oscar.
Kim, your role in Temptation didn't exactly scream "award-worthy." But you have a ton of cash, girl! You can totally invest in some acting lessons. Possibly years and years worth. (Wait, just watched the Temptation trailer... oh, dear God, Kim, get on this RIGHT NOW.)
Start a charity foundation.
Now that she's graced the cover of Vogue, it's time she jumped head-first into her next big project. We don't want a terrible pop album or a reality show spin-off, though. Her next project should be the creation of the Kim K Foundation. She should dedicate her time to something important and soak in the world's approval ... but also, yeah, it's great to do stuff for other people, too.
Stay out of the spotlight.
You don't have to be in the headlines daily to maintain your star power. Just look at the classiest of classy actresses, Emma Watson — she doesn't always step out on the town, but when she does, everyone goes crazy. Overexposure is boring. Kim, you've been on Vogue, you've reached the height of fame! Time to put a pause on the self-promotion.
