These Ladies Make Eco-Friendly Look Fierce
If there’s one truth in this world, it’s that fashion is fleeting, with trends coming and going quicker than designers can roll out a new collection. But there’s one trend that’s been cropping up over the last few years that we think has a fighting chance to stick around for the long haul: eco-friendly fashion. After all, stars like Olga Kurylenko are hitting the red carpet in sustainable designs, and runway collections are becoming greener than ever. And even some of the biggest names in Hollywood are getting behind the push toward a more eco-conscious fashion industry. Last night, for instance, major celebs like Sophia Bush, Kate Mara, Emmy Rossum, Camilla Belle, and more came out to show their support for sustainable style at an event hosted by H&M to celebrate the fast-fashion brand’s Conscious Collection.
Bush, for one, made a big splash in her cream, boho-chic, lace-overlay frock from the H&M Conscious Collection. The delicate, flowing dress featured an ultra-high neck and intricate embellishments along the chest and neckline, and the Chicago P.D. star finished off the ensemble with wavy hair, a berry lip, and one of the most perfect pairs of nude pumps we’ve ever seen.
Incorporating lace into her H&M look, too, House of Cards star Kate Mara paired a cropped, embroidered pant with a sheer, printed, puffy-sleeved top for a laid-back but still stylish look. Completing her outfit with a simple bun, green pendant necklace, studded clutch, and sassy snakeskin heels, she was a walking, talking example of how stylish sustainable fashion can be.
Rossum showed up in a dress that looked quite familiar — model and H&M spokesperson Miranda Kerr wore the same gown just weeks ago when she attended the brand’s Paris fashion show — but Rossum gave it her own fresh spin with ankle-strap heels, a pendant necklace, and glamorous Old Hollywood curls.
Belle was the picture of elegance in her asymmetrical-hem, fit-and-flare dress that was adorned with delicate floral beading. Channeling Cleopatra with her winged eye and dangling earrings — which came from the H&M collection — the brunette beauty looked like near perfection.
Considering how stunning these stylish ladies looked in their eco-conscious designs, we wouldn’t be surprised to see more celebrities hitting the streets and red carpets in environmentally-friendly, sustainably-sourced creations.
