The Right Way To Watch The 'Gilmore Girls' Revival
Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life is fast approaching, and it's totally normal to be planning your viewing party already. Nov. 25 is not that far away. Lorelai and Rory became known for many things throughout the original seven seasons of the show, such as talking too fast, eating copious amounts of junk food, and drinking a lot of coffee. Since all four episodes of the revival are being released at once by Netflix, you're probably going to want to marathon the episodes quickly to avoid inevitable spoilers. But what else do you need to watch the Gilmore Girls revival like a true fan?
Clearly, your selection of snacks is incredibly important. It won't be adequate to rely on take away from just one vendor (keep in mind the phrase What Would A Gilmore Do?). Instead, you're going to want to have a fully stocked fridge filled with items that Lorelai and Rory would love. You might want to dress up, too, because the residents of Stars Hollow are known for their quirky dress sense. From the baseball cap Luke refuses to take off, to Jess's leather jacket, there are plenty of iconic items that will make you feel like you're part of the show. Here's everything you could possibly need to watch the series like the fan that you are.
1. Strawberry Pop Tarts
Lorelai's obsession with the retro breakfast snack is the only motivation I need to stock up immediately.
2. A Huge Pot Of Coffee
Luke and Lorelai's relationship is very much based around the coffee served at Luke's Diner. Without it, Lorelai would cease to exist. Make sure you have an endless supply.
3. A Ridiculous Amount Of Chinese Food
A staple in anyone's life, I shouldn't need to have to convince you to order take away for your Gilmore Girls marathon.
4. A Baseball Cap
Luke was married to his baseball cap throughout the show, so you should probably have one close by while you watch.
5. Books
Rory loves reading. Jess wrote a book. You should be surrounded by literature when you experience the new Gilmore Girls episodes.
6. Pizza
No Gilmore Girls revival viewing party would be complete without pizza.
7. A Yale Flag Or T-Shirt
It's time to show your love for Rory's school.
8. Pie
Sure, this viewing party involves a lot of food items, but that's what Lorelai would expect. Plus, pie is very attractive.
9-10. Ice Cream & Pajamas
Eating ice cream while wearing pajamas? I can't think of anything better.
11. Cocktails
Obviously, you need cocktails. But you knew that, right?
12. Pick A Team
If you haven't already, it's time to decide which team you're on — Team Logan, Team Dean, or Team Jess. Put your predictions in a sealed envelope and open them at the end of Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life .
13. Tacos
With four episodes to watch, each at 90 minutes long, you're going to need sustenance. Eat like a Gilmore.
It's time to start planning your Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life viewing party already, if only to prepare your stomach for the crazy amount of food it's going to consume throughout the screening.
