Orlando Bloom Takes His Son On The 'Pirates' Ride

I'll admit, when I first got wind of Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom going on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland Shanghai, I rolled my eyes... hard. It was just too cheesy for me. I was unhealthily obsessed with both Bloom and the Pirates saga for the better part of my teen years, so I do totally get the fangirling aspect of it. It's just that... Bloom going on the ride himself seemed too on the nose. But, then I took a closer look at Perry's Instagram story and realized that the singer wasn't the only reason why Bloom was showing off his immortalized brand and everything suddenly went from being corny to being the cutest.

Per E! Online, Bloom took his son, Flynn, on the Disneyland trip, too. It's obvious, through the videos on Perry's Instagram story, that he was super proud to show the ride off to his little guy and his girlfriend. We don't ever actually see Flynn or Bloom, but a young boy's voice can be heard going, "Ohhh!" So, you know, put two and two together.

Anyway, that's why I'm giving this could-be unpalatably saccharine occasion a pass. Once you hear the wonderment in Flynn's voice when his dad explains which ship The Flying Dutchman is, you will, too. All the credit goes to Perry for capturing the moment, of course, without having to show the father or son at all. It was a nice way to keep things private while still sharing a sweet moment from an undoubtedly memorable trip. (In the tweet below, the Pirates of the Caribbean section begins around 1:58.)

While the Pirates of the Caribbean ride was probably the sweetest part of their excursion, Perry, Bloom, and Flynn no doubt had the best time throughout the entire park. You know, if the rest of the singer's Instagram story and her wide grin all the photos that she appears in is any indication.

I mean, just look at her:

If one thing is for sure, it's that Disneyland through Perry's eyes is even more fun. Especially when you get to innocently eavesdrop in on an precious moment between Bloom and his son.
