Here is some news that may confuse some Real Housewives of New York City fans. On Friday, Us Weekly confirmed that Ramona Singer is officially divorced from Mario Singer. Wait, didn't she announce in the RHONY Season 8 premiere that the two were already divorced? She even had lunch with friend and co-star Carole Radziwill, where they discussed the divorce. Singer also mentioned how she's so happy she and Mario didn't drag it out like Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy. She even said, "Once I realized that there was no choice but for us to get divorced, I was not going to draw it out for years and years and years the way Bethenny is." So what gives with this fresh divorce news? Allow Singer to clear up any confusion.
"We signed off on a divorce agreement last September," she told Us. "Unfortunately, it took the judge over a year to sign off on it due to paperwork glitches. I found out yesterday from my attorney, who sent it to me along with a key chain that says, 'The divorce is final.'"
Now it all makes sense. In January 2014, Singer and Mario decided to end their marriage. Now, in 2016, the Real Housewives star is moving on and living life to the fullest. "I feel phenomenal. I look better than ever and I’m happier than ever." She also said, "Most marriages don’t last 20-plus years. Look at Brad and Angelina." Leave it to Singer to be so topical during a conversation about the end of her marriage.
Despite how she and Mario ended things, Singer isn't letting any of it get her down. "[Mario] was a great husband, but he wants to retire and live in Florida, and I feel young in my mind." She added, "We were on different paths. I’m full of life and vitality and I have more energy than a 25-year-old. I’m very excited. I have no idea where this is going, but I’m excited."
I predict ever more Turtle Time in Ramona's future — and she deserves it.
