Add George Clooney to the list of those in the world totally having trouble coming to terms with the breakup of actual Hollywood royalty Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. It doesn't hurt that he found out about it in the worst way ever: During an interview at the United Nations (he's currently there for the UN General Assembly's Summit for Refugees and Migrants) with CNN anchor Richard Roth, Clooney was asked how he felt about Brangelina's split because he's "close friends" with the duo. Turns out, he had no clue that his BFFs 5ever were breaking up, and boy, did the shock show in his beautiful sculpted face.
"What happened?" he asked Roth, before it was clarified to him that Brangelina were, in fact, going back to being simply Pitt and Jolie. "I didn't know that. Wow."
Of course, Clooney being Clooney, he followed up his statement of shock with a brave face and a genuinely lovely quote about how sad it is for the family, and how he's extremely sorry to hear that the couple was splitting. "I feel very sorry then. That's a sad story and unfortunate for a family. It's an unfortunate story about a family. I feel very sorry to hear that. That's the first I've heard of it."
Ugh, I just want everyone to be happy, is that too much to ask?
Oh god, his face.
He looks so sad. Can I go to the U.N. right now and give George Clooney a hug? Is that acceptable?
Ugh. Clooney, just know that none of this was your fault. Sometimes, moms and dads fight, and sometimes, they have to breakup. It doesn't mean they love you any less, and it doesn't mean they won't still be there for you when things get tough. Chin up, my friend.
