The most recent mystery that we wish Sherlock Holmes himself was here to solve? Where was the cast of BBC's Sherlock at the 2016 Emmys.
Despite Sherlock's 2016 special, Sherlock: The Abomidable Bride, winning "Outstanding Television Movie," and Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Sherlock Holme being nominated in the category of "Outstanding Actor In A Limited Series or Movie" it didn't seem that any of the cast walked the red carpet or made it to the ceremony.
The nominations came as a bit of a surprise considering this iteration of Sherlock was a single episode instead of an entire season, which may be why the cast opted to skip out on the ceremony all together. Cumberbatch won the same award in 2014 for his acting in Sherlock's third season, so fans of the show had high expectations of a repeat performance this year.
We would have loved to have seen Benedict Cumberbatch bring his sexy, smoldering looks to the red carpet once again, but sadly he was MIA — probably snuggled up at home eating Chinese food and watching the ceremony from the comfort of his couch with his wife Sophie Hunter. If those two aren't #relationshipgoals, I don't know what is.
I mean, look at them:
They would've slayed the Emmys red carpet in a major way.
Their style is always on point.
Even his accessory game is on trend!
Unfortunately for Sherlock lovers, the show's fourth season isn't expected to come back on the air until next year, so we probably won't be seeing the cast reunited again for a long, long time.
