17 Emilia Clarke Instagrams Every 'GoT' Fan Needs
After that epic Season 6 finale, I knew it was going to be a tough wait for Game of Thrones. It's only been a few months, but I'm already miserable. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel in the form of the Instagram account of Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen. Scrolling through her page almost makes up for the GoT-flavored nervous butterflies doing the mamba in my tummy. I just think, It's OK, the show is not real and Emilia Clarke is doing FINE. I can totally handle the wait for Season 7 because Emilia Clarke is handling it A-OK.
Daenerys is not only Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons but she also really kills the Instagram game. After spending just a few minutes on her page, one may find all their Game of Thrones anxieties gently floating away. A deep dive into Khaleesi's Instagram is truly the best medicine for the Game of Thrones devotee. Don't believe me? The following are the best images from Clarke's Instagram that achieve the difficult task of distracting fans from the inner turmoil raging inside.
1. The One Where She Supported Her Fellow GoT Ladies
What a funny way to congratulate her fellow actresses on their Emmy nominations. Oh, Daenerys, you really are too much. I love the all-caps "GIRL.POWER" the most.
2. The One Where She Casually Conquered A Truck Like A Dragon
Clarke must have a trademark on the defiant conqueror pose. She nails it every time.
3. This Game of Thrones Tomfoolery
It is actually LOL-worthy to see the actor who plays Grey Worm — Jacob Anderson — not behaving in a stoic, borderline boring way. I need more goofy GoT in my life.
4. What Is This, A Crossover Episode?
Two worlds we thought we would never see merge: '90s New York City and Westeros, Friends and Game of Thrones. How you doin'?
5. More Behind-The-Scenes Goofiness
Watch out Khal Moro. She's going to murder you. Don't dance to 2Pac with her.
6. Mother Of Puppies
Oh. My. Goddess. I don't think any more needs to be said here.
7. The One With Jon Snow
"But the six pack is in." Also, can we talk about how beautiful her green eyes are in this picture? Like what even.
8. The One About Mother's Day
What do you get when you combine Emilia Clarke, Mother's Day, and extra flammable materials? A hilarious Game of Thrones-themed Mother's Day Instagram. Amazing.
9. The One With Her Own Person Type of Direwolf
Dog-sledding is probably just as difficult as riding a dragon. And much chillier, but Emilia Clarke is a master of both ice and fire.
10. These Game of Thrones Feels
I'm taking this as proof that Sansa, Arya, and Daenerys are going to get along and save the world. Three cheers for girl power.
11. The One Where She Got Excited About Dragon Things
Admittedly, if I was associated with dragons, I too would be obsessed with them.
12. The One With Custom-Made Earrings
I want "Mother of Dragon" jewelry. So cute.
13. The One With Baby Hands And An Emmy
The expression on her face is almost as funny as what is going on in this picture.
14. The One With The Serious Essay
Clarke twirled on her haters by sharing this post about nudity in Game of Thrones. She makes sure fans know, "like a good Mother of Dragons, I’m always in control."
15. The One Where Kristin Wiig Played Daenerys
It's so cute how excited Clarke is about Kristen Wiig all dressed up as Daenerys on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. You can watch the full video here.
16. The One With A Lot Going On
This picture is a lot to take in. There are a bunch of people putting a Dany wig on Emilia Clarke, the actress herself looks shocked, and the pup on her lap looks like he's about to jump ship. What is going on in this image?
17. The One Where She Shouts Out GoT Crew
A good way to deal with the GoT blues is to remember how sweet Clarke is for shouting out Isabela Pèrez, one of the members of the show's costume department. And, oh man, those shoes are beautiful. Want.
Emilia Clarke's goofy sense of humor, caring spirit, and Dragon obsession shows up so much in her Instagram that I was actually momentarily distracted from my unabashed Game of Thrones anxieties. Her account truly is a delight. Happy scrolling, guys.
