Conspiracy theories revolving around new and past celebrity couples are becoming popular as of late. For example, as both BuzzFeed and fan forum Exhale pointed out, there is now one going around the internet that Justin Timberlake still loves Britney Spears. Crazy, right? I mean, he seems to be happily married to Jessica Biel. Plus, they are parents to their son, Silas, so there's no way J.T. could still have feelings for the pop star he dated from 1999 to 2002, right? Well, after hearing the following conspiracy theory you may just think otherwise.
Who knows if this is all stemming from when Timberlake said he'd collaborate with Spears again, but whatever the case, it's happening. While doing an interview at the Cannes Film Festival in France (yes, an interview from May is becoming a major headline) with his Trolls co-star Anna Kendrick, the interviewer uses the word "pinky" to describe Kendrick's character in the animated film. It appears that Timberlake becomes quiet and solemn at the mention of "pinky." His face does change drastically and for quite a long time. It's kind of strange, though who knows the exact reason behind it. But, there are some who are convinced that the word "pinky" made Timberlake think of Spears, because that was the nickname he used to call her. At the time of their relationship, the Glory artist also called J.T. by the nickname "Stinky."
Before I go any further, here is a gif pulled from the interview of the exact moment that has pretty much everyone shipping Spears and Timberlake again. The moment goes on much longer than this gif, but this is just to show you how he goes from smiling to extreme contemplation to smiling back to reflection.
He thinking about something pretty seriously, but at this point in time nobody knows exactly what. (Bustle reached out to Timberlake's rep to see if he has comment on the conspiracy, but has not yet heard back.) So I guess everyone is just assuming that it means he's still in love with Brit Brit for now. As ridiculous as it is, this conspiracy is so much better than any of the ones involving Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift. Thank you, Justin Timberlake.
