Who will Liza choose to be with? It's a question that has been on every Younger fan's mind since the Season 2 finale when both Josh and Charles laid their feelings for her out on the table. And now with the Younger Season 3 premiere right around the corner, viewers are more anxious than ever to see where exactly this love triangle is heading. Bustle recently asked both Nico Tortorella and Peter Hermann that very question regarding Liza's big decision on Younger and which of their characters they think stand the best chance of winning her heart in the end.
"Charles manages his affection for her sometimes successfully, sometimes not," Hermann teases, though that doesn't necessarily mean Liza is the only possible love interest for Charles this season because, according to the actor, "there could be another kiss... the question is, is it with Liza?" So if you thought Liza and Charles were just going to ride off into the sunset together, think again. (Though, really, what fun would that be?) That means things could end up looking up for Team Josh fans. In fact, Tortorella claims that Josh and Liza's "highest points are in this season... and their lowest." I can't help but wonder if that has anything to do with Josh eventually finding out about Charles and Liza locking lips.
"He has no idea about anything that's going on," Tortorella states in reference to Liza and Charles' kiss. "He's completely oblivious to anything. He thinks life is wonderful with Liza." And considering that both actors promise that Liza's two men will share some more scenes together this season, I have a feeling that's all bound to come out into the open eventually. I mean, how could it not?
But above all else, Josh's true mission this season is to stick by his word and be "all in" with his feelings for Liza, no matter what obstacles come their way. "Most of this season is really just about Josh and Liza in terms of their relationship," Tortorella shares. "There's not a whole lot that happens outside of it. Josh is very much so seen in her world this season. We don't see her in his very much."
Sounds like Liza is going to be doing Liza this season and really, when it comes down to it, is the best decision she could ever make. I don't know how this is going to play out as the season progresses. Odds are Team Josh and Team Charles will both have their good and bad days. But at the end of the day, what really matters most is that Liza is taking care of herself and living the life she wants, regardless of anyone else's opinion.
