The Best 'GoT' Cast Looks From the Emmys
Game of Thrones tends to do very well at the Emmys, both in terms of nominations/wins, and in terms of red carpet acumen. So, as the popular awards show draws ever closer, let's take a look at the Game of Thrones cast's best Emmys looks from over the years — after all, they've basically been dominating since the show first went on the air in 2011, and with such a huge (and stylish) cast, their red carpet showings have always been exciting to watch. This year, Game of Thrones nominated in a whopping nine categories (including acting nods for almost all your faves — Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, and Maisie Williams) so it's sure to be an amazing night, on and off the red carpet.
Now, it goes without saying that it's tough to beat GoT' s famously lavish costumes, but this cast has done their very best — and between the fluffy pink mules, the well-tailored suits, and the sprightly Chanel Resort numbers, I think it's safe to say that they've looked just as good on the red carpet as they have on the Iron Throne. So, without further ado, let's take a look at some of this ultra-talented cast's Emmys slayage from across the years.
1. Peter Dinklage, 2011
Since 2011, Peter Dinklage has picked up two Emmys for his work as Tyrion Lannister — always while impeccably dressed, of course. Keep your fingers crossed for a third win this year!
2. Emilia Clarke, 2012
Fun and funky, yet still Khaleesi-level regal.
3. Kit Harington, 2013
Shiny lapels, shinier shoes. You go, Kit Harington!
4. Lena Headey, 2014
This asymmetrical gown is totally Cersei-approved. And if you're not sold yet, you need to see Lena Headey's tattoos:
SLAY.
5. Kit Harington, 2014
Ah, yes. The year of the man bun.
6. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, 2014
Bow tie > Kingsguard cape, IMO.
7. Rose Leslie, 2014
Understated, elegant, and gorgeous — and she is rocking that scarlet lipstick.
8. Carice Van Houten, 2015
Considerably more bubblegum pink than one would expect from the Red Priestess, but by no means less glamorous.
9. Maisie Williams, 2015
THOSE SHOES, THOUGH.
10. Gwendoline Christie, 2015
The women of Game of Thrones certainly proved it's possible to look badass in pale pink in 2015.
11. Sophie Turner, 2015
Ooh, what a power (jump)suit.
12. Lena Headey, 2015
A rock and roll bob, and an exquisitely silhouetted dress dripping in crystals? I think we can safely say this is another Cersei-approved gown.
