Lance Bass Names His Favorite *NSYNC Song
On Monday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, the unstoppable duo of The Real Housewives of Orange County’s Tamra Judge and former boybander Lance Bass stopped by the Bravo Clubhouse to chat it up with Andy Cohen. At some point during the ep, the pop star-turned-reality TV personality was asked to name his number one *NSYNC tune of all time. Tough Q, right? Not for Lance B. Without missing a beat, the Finding Prince Charming host replied with a deep cut: track number five off of 2000's No Strings Attached. A track that was co-penned by Real Housewives of Atlanta star and accomplished songwriter Kandi Burruss. Yes, Lance Bass’s favorite *NSYNC song is “It Makes Me Ill.” And I gotta say, I'm really feeling this pick. You can say I'm crazy if you want to. That's true. I'm crazy about "It Makes Me Ill."
...And I'm crazy about The No Strings Attached Tour rendition of "It Makes Me Ill."
Because it was never released as a single, Bass, JC Chasez, Justin Timberlake, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Joey Fatone never made a music video for "It Makes Me Ill." But you know what they did do? They put “It Makes Me Ill” on The No Strings Attached Tour setlist, that's what. And I am forever thankful.
Their live version of the song involved a gurney, hospital gowns, scrubs, and defibrillators. There was dancing, there was singing, and there were heart monitor sound effects. It really was something to behold:
This was one of my favorite parts of the tour when I went in 2000, and it’s one of my favorite parts of the tour when I rewatch the HBO special now.
Aaaaand now I can't stop singing the song's first verse. Guess who is upset? Answer: Not me.
